Gov. Charlie Baker and Mayor Martin J. Walsh praised the redevelopment of a Brighton office building as an example of how Boston needs to address housing demand.
The six-story Nova Residences on Commonwealth Avenue has 80 one- and two-bedroom units, including 10 affordable units, in an eight-story building that once housed Baker’s gubernatorial campaign headquarters. Rents range from $1,850 to $3,250.
“This project here that took an office complex and turned it into housing is exactly the sort of project that we need to see happening a lot more in communities around Massachusetts,” Baker said.
